The process for installing a floor coating is a similar to any painting project consisting of preparation, repairs, base coat, and topcoat. Proper preparation of the surface is the most important step in applying any floor coating. Step one is to inspect the space for any imperfections in the concrete or existing floor and repair any holes, gaps, cracks, or pits to ensure an even final coat. Next the floor will need to be ground down to a level, course, contaminate free surface. Then we will remove any and all particles from the floor and prepare the base coat. Once the base coat is down, we will apply a full flake broadcast with your chosen colors. That will need to cure for a couple hours then it will be scraped and vacuumed in preparation for the final topcoat. Finally, the topcoat will be applied and will need to cure for a few hours before you are able to enjoy your new floor coating. If any of these steps are done incorrectly or not completed repairing the floor will be a labor-intensive mountain of a project to repair, which is why hiring a trained professional is a must with any semi-permanent floor coating.
